Somatic and Holistic Healing

Somebody Handed You a Technique and It Didn’t Take

Somebody gave you something to do when the feeling comes, and you’ve got it saved on your phone.

You’ve run it in parking lots and in the ten minutes before a meeting.

It holds about as well as a borrowed coat you have to keep closed with one hand.

Then you’re standing at the kitchen sink on an ordinary Tuesday, jaw locked tight enough that your teeth ache, and nothing has happened.

Nobody Told You What Your Body Was Doing

Nobody explained what your body was doing in the first place, so you’ve been running a tool you can’t adjust.

Your system has its own logic, built out of everything you’ve lived through.

Once you understand that logic, what you do about it starts coming from you.

I’ll Teach You How Your Own System Works

The somatic work starts by slowing you down, because nothing gets learned at the speed you’ve been going.

From there, we build awareness: what your body is doing, when it started, and what it’s been trying to accomplish for you.

Then comes allowing, a stance rather than a technique, letting what arrives be what it is before you decide anything about it.

Releasing what you no longer need comes easier once that groundwork is real.

Build Practices You Can Run Without Me

As a certified mindfulness educator through Mindful Schools, I’ll teach you the practice itself rather than handing you the instructions.

Sometimes we just need to look at something from a different vantage point, so I’ll ask you to change seats and tell me what’s different from over there.

When you tell me a feeling sits in your chest like a stone, I’ll ask you about the stone instead of trading it for an interpretation of mine, because your images are the map.

That way of asking has a name: Clean Language and Symbolic Modeling.

Move This Work Outside, or Take It Deeper

Some sessions we sit, and some we spend walking the farm lanes here in Red Lion, because plenty of people settle better outdoors with their body moving.

Other days the work happens outside with the horses, and the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy page walks through what that involves.

If trauma is what’s driving your body, the Trauma Recovery page speaks to that directly, and everything described here runs underneath it.

Your Own Strategies, Long After We Finish

If you work out, you get results, and this is the same deal: we’re building something that adds up.

Months from now, you’re at that same sink on an ordinary Tuesday, and you catch your jaw before your teeth start to ache.

You know what it’s asking for, and you have your own answer ready.

Nobody handed you that one.

Start Building Something You Get to Keep

This work happens in person on the farm, with clients who drive in from across Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Call me today for a free consultation: (717) 873-1836, or write to me at patti@peacellc.org.

We’ll talk about what your body has been carrying and whether this work fits you.

The aim is that one day you won’t need me, and you’ll still have everything you built here.

Find Your Breath Again

Finding your way out of the darkest corner of your life can feel lonely and frightening. When there’s a light to focus on, or a line to grab onto, the way starts to clear.

I’m here to be that light, that line, one step at a time, toward the place you want to be.

Take this as your opportunity to move toward hope and purpose.

Give me a call at (717) 873-1836, or send an email to patti@peacellc.org.

Let’s begin that journey.
